2006 4H Dog Show
Rebecca and Sugar welcome you to the Ripley Co. 4H Dog Show July 2006
It was definitely the Dog Days of Summer, just look at how hot the kids are posing with their dogs.
Rebecca gave Sugar a rub down with a wet cloth, gave her ice to eat, but getting her turn infront of the fan seemed to give her the most comfort. The kids and dogs waited a long time for their turn with the judge. The dogs knew what they were supposse to do, but it was so hot they just didn't want to do it.
When Rebecca and Sugar's turn came they both paid very close attention to the judges instructions. Sugar was very obedient.
They made the figure 8 look like a peice of cake.
Rebecca and the judge discuss Sugar's bite and conformation. Sugar is only 7 months old at this show, the youngest dog in her class.
Rebecca and Sugar have taken 1st place Showmanship for the Novice class. This is both Rebecca and Sugars first dog show.
2007 Dog Show

Emmie (last minute substitution for Sugar who was in heat) took DIVISION CHAMPION SHOWMANSHIP, DIVISION CHAMPION OBEDIENCE in the second year(Junior) division (Emmie is only 6 months old!) . Shown by Rebecca Merida
Our family earned 19 ribbons, 3 trophies, and 2 plaques!!
Christian and Sultan Pose infront of his poster, and ribbons. He will recieve his trophy at the awards ceremony. We are especially proud of Chris who learned to be ONE with his dog.
In the movie Eragon, they tell Eragon when he is truly ONE with his dragon he can fight from anywhere including the tail. I used that scene to describe the boy/dog relationship to Chris who is autistic. Chris took that analogy very seriously, and set out to prove himself. When they announced he won 3rd place, he asked if he was ONE with his dog now, and I said YES!
Sean posing with Domonique infront of his poster with his ribbons. Domonique did very well for a 7 month old puppy!
Brandon and Oreo pose in front of his poster with his ribbons. We are so proud of Oreo, she didn't win any awards but she overcame her shyness!
Rebecca and Emmie pose infront of their Ribbons and poster. They will receive 2 trophies at the awards ceremony.
Rebecca showed Sugar last year, and Sugar was in heat this year and was unable to be shown. Rebecca started working with Emmie last minute. Emmie was only 6 months old but had to be shown at a second year level because it was Rebecca's second year. Even though they had to do recalls, sit-stays, and down-stays off leash they did an amazing job! If you didn't know it you would think that Emmie had been to all the trainings and practices. We are so proud of them both!!
